SOLEK has connected its largest photovoltaic power plant to the grid. Leyda in Chile starts generating electricity for 23,000 households

This giant solar park, covering 121 hectares, the equivalent of around 160 football pitches, has started generating electricity for 23,000 households. With an installed capacity of 95,2 MW, it can produce 185 GWh of renewable energy per year.
"Chile continues to be an attractive country for investors in renewable energy, including solar. This allows us to implement projects of the size of Leyda. This plant is proof of our long-term commitment to contribute to the global energy transition," said Zdenek Sobotka, founder and CEO of SOLEK.
The giant Leyda PV plant is located in the San Antonio region of Chile, 90 kilometres from the capital Santiago de Chile. This project is the result of more than a decade of SOLEK's presence in Chile, during which the company has gained valuable experience and the trust of local and international partners. The project has been financed by prestigious international partners such as BNP Paribas and the investment company BlackRock. All the energy will be supplied through a long-term contract (PPA) with ENEL Green Power.
The Leyda project contributes to Chile's decarbonisation goals and will help the country achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The construction of the plant has created 400 jobs. SOLEK, a leading energy company that designs, builds and operates solar power plants in Europe and Latin America, manages nearly 50 photovoltaic plants in Chile. At the end of 2024, SOLEK had 432 MWp of solar power plants connected or under construction.
The SOLEK HOLDING Group consists of two parts: the services division SOLEK SERVICES HOLDING, which provides services for the development and construction of solar power plants, and the assets division SOLEK IPP HOLDING, which manages and operates the solar power plants. In 2023, the services division generated EBITDA of CZK 382 million on revenues of CZK 2.7 billion. The assets division, which generates an order of magnitude lower revenue from the production and sale of electricity (CZK 207 million in the year before last), will generate EBITDA of CZK 84 million in 2023.
