SOLEK's Sustainability Strategy. Responsibility starts with ourselves.
1. November 2022
SOLEK has already achieved its first milestone in September this year, and it is the first comprehensive ESG strategy. It sets targets in all ESG segments and confirms that responsibility and sustainability are integral daily at SOLEK.
At first glance, a company that has based its business on clean and endless sun energy would be hard-pressed to find a way to be even more sustainable. But SOLEK has decided to go further and has defined 15 key goals it wants to achieve, and it will do so in the coming years.
The Group's business will continue to focus on safe and clean energy available to the maximum extent possible. The energy market and the company itself should also be sustainable in the future. By 2040, SOLEK will become a carbon-neutral company and invest in biodiversity protection or resource efficiency. The positive steps taken by the company will now be measured and reported regularly. They will be put to the test in 2030 in the form of certification of environmental management systems according to ISO 14001.
Solar power plants are based on resources, quality projects, and the people involved in them and for whom they produce energy. SOLEK already boasts a high level of diversity, which it intends to continue to promote. The company joined the Energía más Mujer (Energy and Women) initiative this year. It will continue to build on this good practice in the future. The solar energy industry is the source of many career opportunities. The company's philosophy is to make them attractive, safe, and fair.
SOLEK is not just a solar developer; it is a rapidly growing company whose influence on the outside world is increasing weekly. "We are not afraid to be a leader. We want to be! "Our work and long-term vision are more important than ever. Especially now, when the prices of energy are rising, and the supply of traditional resources is not secure," comments Zdeněk Sobotka, the company founder, and CEO. With its size, the company wants to influence the business environment as a whole positively. The company will train its employees annually in business ethics. It will monitor its ethical approaches and its suppliers as well.
The challenges associated with sustainable business are many. Those that SOLEK has taken on can be explored in detail now. In the ESG strategy, under the link here.
